Wordless Wednesday: Statue of Liberty

Feb 11, 2015 by

Alaina’s kindergarten class studied about the Statue of Liberty the other day. She was so proud to show off her crown and torch. I think she makes a pretty good Lady Liberty.

Wordless Wednesday: My birthday

Jan 14, 2015 by

I celebrated my birthday on Saturday — Happy Birthday to me. 🙂 Nope, there is no way I’m telling you how old I am. I will say that I had managed to subtract a year until my husband set me straight. *sigh*

As always, Matt and Alaina know just what to do to make me feel special. They sent me a beautiful flower arrangement at work on Friday and then baked me a very delicious carrot cake FROM SCRATCH! I’m a box mix kind of baker myself, so it blew my mind that they went to the extra effort for me. *sniff, sniff*

Wordless Wednesday: Cousins

Dec 3, 2014 by

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! My little family celebrated twice — first with my parents, my sisters, my brothers-in-law and my nephews, my aunt and uncle, my cousin and her kiddos and second with Grandpa Glen and crew. Phew, what a day!

One of the things I love about the holidays is it gives me a chance to take lots of pictures of everyone. While we were celebrating with my extended family I snapped this little gem of Alaina and her cousins. I just love this picture!

Wordless Wednesday: Haircut

Oct 15, 2014 by

Alaina got her first big-girl haircut last Saturday. WooHoo!

Until now, we had been taking her to a salon that caters to kids. It did the trick — especially in making her comfortable enough to allow someone to cut her hair. But they’re always packed AND loud, so I wasn’t looking forward to her next haircut.

But on Saturday, it dawned on me that my hair stylist said she cuts kids’ hair. Since I already had an appointment for myself, I called to see if Beth would have time to cut Alaina’s hair too. Luckily she did!

So Alaina and headed had a little mommy/daughter time as we both got haircuts Saturday. I was amazed at how grown up my little girl was in the big chair.

So many thanks to Beth at Payton Place Salon in North Little Rock for doing a great job on Alaina’s hair! Farewell to the children’s salon — this mama’s little girl is ready for the big chair now! 🙂
